If file sharing is enabled, you can go to my computer, right click on a folder that you want to share, and go to sharing & security-> check the box to share this folder on the network, and give the share a name. Then go to the other computer, start->My network places->browse to the computer and then the share.
A complete tutorial can be found here: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/shar…
These directions are for Win XP. Vista similar but not identical.
Both computers have to be in the same work group name to see the share.
right click my computer
properties
computer name
change
make the workgroup name identical on both pc’s.
Once you do that, create a shared folder on computerA.
my computer
drive c
make a folder ‘shared’
right click on ‘shared’
sharing and security
allow network users to change my files
ok.
On computerB:
start
run
\computera
should show the shared folder and be able to access it.
If access denied, turn on the guest account on computera.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libra…
